Your Contract with Holborn Assets Ltd

When you as a client sign our Client Agreement, you are entering into a contract with Holborn Assets Ltd in which it is intended that we carry out all of the following activities, irrespective of the final outcome of the advice or whether any transactions are actually carried out by us on your behalf:

  1. Gather information about the you e.g. fact-find, risk profile, goals call.
  2. Carry out research to find suitable investment options.
  3. Provide you with reports, financial health-checks and forecasts.
  4. Recommend specific investment products to you, including an indication of the prices at which these can be arranged.
  5. With your agreement, contact the product providers on your behalf and act between the provider and you, with a view to arranging the sale of the Retail Investment Products
  6. Where you, the customer, agree to an ongoing review service, monitor your ongoing position on a periodic basis to ensure that the products continue to meet your requirements.

Full Defined Benefit Transfer Advice

We will advise you on whether you should keep your DB scheme or transfer out to a new pension that we will recommend for you. We will liaise with your new and old schemes to make all the necessary arrangements.

This recommendation may be to transfer all or part of your pensions or it maybe not to transfer.

If we have advised you to transfer or not, we will, if requested and after the payment of our fee, provide you with written confirmation that you have received independent financial advice. (A requirement to transfer safeguarded pension benefits under section 48 of the Pension Schemes Act 2015).

Under FCA rules, the Confirmation of Advice may only be provided following provision of Full Defined Benefit Transfer Advice.

We only offer Full Advice where the CETVs have at least 6 weeks before expiry (from the date we have received our fee).

Abridged Defined Benefit Transfer Advice

We will advise you on whether you should keep your DB scheme but without considering a new scheme. If you want to continue to look at a new scheme you will need to take full advice.

FCA rules do not permit the issue of the confirmation of advice if you have only been issued with Abridged Advice.

We only offer Abridged Advice where the CETVs have at least 8 weeks before expiry (from the date we have received the fee).

Implementation

If we recommend a transfer and you wish to proceed with our provider recommendations, we will assist you with the completion of all application documentation submit these to the relevant providers and liaise with them on your behalf.

Holborn Assets Ltd do not offer an Insistent Client Service. We will only assist with the implementation of a pension transfer where we have advised in favour of the exact transaction (the recommended receiving pension and all underlying investments). Under no circumstances will we facilitate the implementation of a pension transfer where we have advised against it.
